Tunisian Warp

Tunisian Warp

I wanted to follow the Tunisian Warp pattern that was from “My Harmony Guide Bible” (with the blue cover), and I came across a part that I was unfamiliar with:
Tss under ch loop of next stitch.”
What chain loop?” I asked. So I played around with it but it didn't come out correctly. So I asked my crochet teacher about it and she showed me what she had done.
But I had other projects to finish and housework to do and put it on the “back burner” for later and hoped I would remember the info. Then I took it up again and this time it finally clicked as to what chain loop the pattern could be referring to.

Next thing to sort out was the “diagonal loop of yo of previous row” part. In my terms, it turned out to be the RIGHT diagonal created by the yarn over. I was accustomed to using the LEFT diagonal yo for my pattern (see this blog post).

So it is the RIGHT diagonal that is used for the first part of the “yo, Tss2tog twice” stitches.

Then I started to experiment (I do that quite frequently) and tried using that right diagonal stitch for the “Tss under ch loop of next stitch” part and a few rows into it, the results look the same and much easier to do.

Inserting the hook under the RIGHT diagonal yo. I had not completed the Tss yet.

I've found a new favorite Tunisian stitch!
